Colostomy care after surgery

Artificial surgical opening created in the colon (large intestines) through the abdomen for the purpose of eliminating waste (faecal matter).

Ileostomy care post-surgery

An artificial opening made on the small intestines via the abdomen to eliminate faecal matter.

Urostomy care post-surgery

A surgically created opening that diverts urine away from the bladder that is not functioning, diseased or injured.

Wound care

An injury to the body that involves breaking of skin and may usually damage the underlying tissues e.g. burns, abrasions, skin tears or an incision post- surgery
